Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
Short version: we collect what you type into our forms, plus standard website analytics. We use it to send you what you asked for and to understand what people read. We don't sell it. If you want it gone, ask and it's gone.
1. What you give us
We only get this when you choose to fill something in.
- Prayer requests (/pray) — your first and last name or a display name, the request itself, and optionally an email or phone number. You choose whether it appears anonymously.
- Prayer Warriors signup (/prayerwarriors) — first name and email address.
- Contact and inquiry forms — your name, email, sometimes a phone number, and whatever you write in the message.
- Counseling applications — name, email, phone, the reason you're applying, and your answers to the consent questions.
- Church listings you submit or correct — the church details, and your contact information so we can follow up.
- Questions asked of our AI (/ask) — the text of the question and an anonymous session identifier. We store the question so we can see what people actually want answered and write better material. We do not attach your name or email to it.
2. What we collect automatically
- Rough location. Our host tells us the country, and often the city and region, that your connection appears to come from. This is derived from network routing, not from your device's GPS, and it is approximate. We store it alongside form submissions so we know where our readers are.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics and PostHog. Between them they record pages you visit, links and buttons you click, roughly where you came from, your device type and browser, and JavaScript errors the site throws. PostHog keeps a profile per visitor so repeat visits can be recognised.
- Fonts. Our typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers receive a request from your browser — and therefore your IP address — on every page load.
We do not currently show a cookie consent banner, so these run on every visit. If you'd rather they didn't, a content blocker or your browser's tracking protection will stop them, and the site works fine without them.
3. What we do with it
- Send the weekly Prayer Warriors email, if you signed up for it.
- Show approved prayer requests on the prayer wall — see section 4.
- Reply to you when you've contacted us or applied for something.
- Understand which pages and answers are useful, and improve them.
- Keep the site working — spotting errors, abuse, and broken pages.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Prayer requests are public
This one deserves its own section. Prayer requests that we approve are displayed publicly on the prayer wall, where anyone can read them. You can submit anonymously, and if you do we won't show your name — but the request itself is still public. Your email and phone number are never displayed; they're only so we can reach you if we need to.
Please don't put anything in a prayer request that would harm you if a stranger read it — other people's private details, medical specifics, or anything you'd regret being searchable.
5. Who else sees it
We use a small number of outside services. They only get what they need to do their job.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site, stores the database, sends our email, and runs the AI behind /ask.
- Google — Analytics, and Fonts as described above.
- PostHog — product analytics and error tracking.
We may also disclose information if the law actually requires it.
6. Email, and stopping it
Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Use it and you're off the list immediately — no confirmation step, no "are you sure". If a message ever arrives without a working unsubscribe link, that's a bug; tell us and we'll fix it and remove you by hand.
7. How long we keep it
We keep what you've submitted until you ask us to delete it, or until it stops being useful for the reason you gave it to us. We're a small project and we don't have an automatic purge schedule — which is exactly why the request below is a real option and not a formality.
8. Getting your data removed
Email us or use the contact form and ask. You can ask us to delete a prayer request, remove you from every list, tell you what we hold about you, or correct something that's wrong. You don't need to live anywhere in particular or cite a regulation — just ask, and we'll do it.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted something, tell us and we'll remove it.
10. Security, honestly stated
Traffic is encrypted, the database isn't public, and admin areas need a login. We don't process payments and we don't store financial information or government ID numbers. But we're not going to promise you perfect security, because nobody can. Assume anything you send over the internet carries some risk.
11. Changes
If this policy changes we'll update the date at the top. Material changes to what we collect or who we share it with will be obvious on this page, not buried.
